Tap the **Age control** to open its details. At the bottom are two buttons: **Age control** and **25+**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-4PSD4V9U.png) 2. Tap **25+** if the customer is clearly above 25. All age-limited items on the receipt are approved in one action. A new control is only required for the next age-limited item that is scanned. 3. Tap **Age control** to check the age of the customer. The message “To purchase these items the customer must be above {age} years (born before {date})” is shown. 4. Choose one of the options: **Enter date**, **Above 25 years**, **Approve age** or **Close**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-3PFROP3R.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-XLIVAVIQ.png) **Enter date** 1. Type the customer’s birth date in the field “Enter birth date” *(format mm.dd.yyyy).* The date stays visible while you type so you can check it. 2. Monitor App checks whether the date meets the age limit. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-QG0E85KF.png) If the date cannot be read, “Invalid date” is shown. Correct the date and try again. If the customer is below the age limit, **Age control not approved** is shown with the message: *The customer is not above {age} years. Remove all items with age limit from sale. These items are displayed on the customer screen.* Tap **Close** to return with the control unhandled, or **Done** to confirm that the customer has been assisted. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-U40WBZTI.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-S2VNU36M.png) **Above 25 years -** Tap this if the customer is above 25. The purchase is approved automatically. **Approve age -** Approves age limit for the item shown. *For example: If an item requiring age 18 is scanned, this only clears that control; further controls are still required for other items with a higher age limit.* **Close -** Returns to the previous view. The control stays unhandled. --- #### Assistance required – control action When a customer tap **Call for assistance** at a self-checkout, the control **Assistance required** is shown in Monitor App. No extra information is given, because the reason for the request is not known. 1. Tap the control to open its details. 2. The message: "Please go to the register to assist the customer" is shown. 3. Go to the register and help the customer. Tap **Done** to confirm that the customer has been assisted. If another employee will assist the customer, you can click the back button on tablet, or “close” on mobile. This will leave the notification alone for the other employee to remove after having assisted the customer. The notification is also updated from POS once the customer has been assisted. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-IUHQ0H30.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-T2EET6KN.png) --- #### Random control and force control A force control is a control you start yourself. At any time you can select an active receipt and force a control, even if the receipt already has other controls. The register row shows number of items, total and average, and a Force control button. 1. Select the register with the active sale and tap **Force control**. 2. The sale is shown as **Control triggered,** with the message: "Please wait to perform the force control until customer goes to payment". ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-STAE1801.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-45J87OVW.png) 1. When the customer goes to payment, the control becomes active and is shown as **Random control.** The message “Please go to the register to perform the control” is shown. 2. The customer cannot complete the purchase in the self-checkout until you have approved the control. Check the customer’s shopping visually. 3. When you are satisfied, tap **Approve**. The control is completed and removed from both the self-checkout and Monitor App. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-QLIEF5LK.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-N6AYZNSU.png)
