As active registers start up, they appear in the list. #### Controls and notifications Monitor App distinguishes between control actions and notifications. - **Control actions** require staff to intervene, and this is communicated between the POS and Monitor App so the action is confirmed on both sides. - **Notifications** are messages sent to Monitor App where the user performs a check with the customer, but there is no confirmation back to the POS. #### Priority, Area and Sorted views The options to controls and notifications are, by default, presented in a priority list: items requiring action are shown at the top, with open active registers without controls or notifications shown below under the active area. This is because the default view is a non static layout. For static layout, all cash registers remain in the same place regardless of controls and notifications. Tapping the “Arrange icon” in the top-right corner offers three ways to arrange registers: - **Priority** — the default view; actions needed first, oldest at the top. - **Area** — registers sorted by zone/area name if areas are configured in the store. - **Sorted** — registers shown in fixed numerical order; the position of a register does not change when a new alarm is triggered or expires. #### Presented on controls/notifications Each control/notification shows a timer indicating how long the customer has needed help or how long items have been on the receipt since the control was triggered. The row is marked with a red line to the left. It shows an icon if a member is added to the receipt, the register’s name, and a red flag indicating there is an action to do and what type of control is needed. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/5c3fbf4a-b177-42ef-a5c9-ab5c60ca2ba9/Images/Documentation/image-W0U3AOXM.png) Some sales can have two ongoing controls or notifications at once. Most need to be handled separately — approving one does not mean the other is checked and approved. #### Handle controls and notifications To handle a control or notification, press the row and then the button with the control’s name to complete an action. Opening a control/notification shows the type of control, a member if one is added, and, where relevant, which items are related to the control. #### Full control When a register raises an control alert, you can ask for a full control of the whole sale. Use it when you want the whole basket checked, not just the item or check raised the alert. It appears only if the register has marked the sale as eligible for full control. Full control can appear in the control window for these alerts, if it is [configured](/v1/docs/monitor-app-configuration#fullcontroll-configuration-configuration): - Approve item control - Low sales total - Deleted item - Employee control
