# Return defect item

The **Return defect item** menu is used to register the return of defective items in InStore App. Returns of defective items undergo further processing in Chain Classic.

#### Start Return defect item

1. Tap the **Return defect item** menu. The start screen for Return defect item will open.
2. Tap **Start.** A screen for registering a reason code will open.

1. Select reason code from the drop-down list.

1. Tap **Add items,** the registration screen for Return defect item will open.
2. Registration of items is done the same way as for most transactions.
