Article summary

Member tags are used to tag members based on predefined Member tags, such as on the basis of their interests. Selecting Member tags will open an overview of existing Member tags. You can create new Member Tags and view/modify existing Member Tags.

These tags can be grouped into different categories to improve the user’s overview. Members are tagged automatically via a routine run at night to update active Member Tags.

You can see when this job ran last, in the “Last run” column (the column is hidden by default, but you can choose to view it via the “column selector”).

New member tag

New Member tag is created by clicking on the New tag button in the “Member tags” view.

You can also click on the +1 by the Member tags submenu.

This opens the "New tag" dialog. This is where you register information about the new tag.

Tag - Enter name of the tag. NB! In order to be able to transfer the tag to Apsis, the name must match the name in Apsis (must be exactly the same).
Description – It is possible to add a description of the tag. Description is displayed in the "Description" column in the Member tags overview.
Category – Select a category. You can select an existing tag category from the drop-down list, or you can tick "Create new tag category" and enter name for a new category.
Select how you would like to add members to the tag? You have two options; "Define segment" (default choice) or "Import members from file". Tick wanted option.

Click on Create to create a new tag or click Cancel to cancel the registration.

When you create a new member tag a new view opens. This is where you define the members for the new member tag. The members must be defined before the member tag can be activated. The look of the view depends on whether you choose “Define segment” or “Import members from file”.

Define segment

If you choose “Define segment” in the “New tag” dialog a view with three options opens.

Tick your preferred option:

  • New member segment

  • Import members from file

  • Copy existing member segment

New member segment

You can create a new member segment by ticking "New member segment" and click on the Define Segment button. The member segment details view opens. Here you define the target group for the member tag.

See Member segment details for description on the fields in the details view.

Not accessible in segment view

If you define a new segment for the member tag, this segment will belong to the member tag and will therefore not be accessible from the Member segment overview.

Import members from file

You can import members to the member tag from file. Click on the Import button.

The "Import members from file" dialog opens. You get a warning that the file might contain employees. Select if you want to include or exclude employees.

There is one button for each choice; Include employees and Exclude employees.

Tick "Copy existing member segment". A search field and a list of existing segments opens. You can search for the segment or select segment from list. Click on wanted segment line and click on the + icon to the right on the line.

The selected segment opens with segment details. It is possible to edit the member tag segment.

Click on the Activate button to activate the member tag.

Click Continue to activate the member tag.

Only activated member tags will be exported to Apsis. The tags are exported nightly to Apsis.
