Promotion price offers

Promotion price is the default price rule when you create promotions. When you create a promotion with promotion price you define the price per item in each offer.

You add items by clicking on the Manage items button in the offer section in promotion details. Click the name of the relevant promotion in the “Promotions” register to enter the promotion details view.

If the items have an ordinary price for the stores the promotion will be active in, they are added to the offer.

For Promotion price a price panel is displayed when you are in the "Manage items" screen. The "Price panel" displays the price for the active line in the overview (the marked line).

Edit promotion price

When the items are added, you can open "Manage items" by clicking on the Manage items button for the Promotion price offer.

In the price panel you get information about the items ordinary price. You can adjust the price calculation to give the item a promotion price. You add promotion price per item.

The price panel is divided into two parts: Cost price and Sales price. When you make a change to the price calculation the fields in the price calculation are updated and displayed with bold text.

In the Cost price calculation, you can add "Kickback supplier" or "Kickback chain discount". Adjustments in the cost price calculation can give the store a better "Margin" on the item.

In the Sales price calculation, you can give a "Promotion discount". When you give a promotion discount the store's "Margin" is reduced.

Specify default values

When you create/edit an offer you can specify default value(s) for the price calculation. Which values depend on the price rule. Tick option you want to specify as default values in the price panel. Then fields for specify the value open (see example). Enter value and select %, New price or Amount.

For Promotion price you can specify values for the following options:

Reward:

• Use rounding

• Default promotion discount

Kickback:

• Default kickback supplier

• Default kickback chain

For other price rules you can specify values for the following options:

Kickback:

• Default kickback supplier

• Default kickback chain

If you define default values when creating/editing offer these values are applied to price calculation for new added items (does not affect price calculation of items added to offer before default values are set or updated).
Default values are not applied if calculation result with default kickback/discount/rounding will be invalid (e.g., calculated price is below 0, then we ignore default values and just put 0 in kickback and discount).

Rounding rules

Rounding rules are applied for the promotion price in the Promotion price panel.

A Round price to … button appears under the price when a rounding rule can be applied.

After the rounding price button is clicked, the price is overwritten with the rounding values.

Navigate the promotion panel

Open/close panel

• The price panel can be closed/collapsed by pressing "ESC" on the keyboard, or by clicking on the arrow in the top right corner.

• The price panel can be opened/expanded by pressing "SPACE" on the keyboard, or by clicking on the arrow on the collapsed panel.  

Navigating the grid

You can navigate to the previous/next item in the grid by using the keyboard arrow keys:

• Down key – next item down

• Up key – previous item up

You can also select a row by clicking on the row. The navigation works both when the panel is opened and closed.

At the bottom of the price panel there are buttons to save or undo changes, which also are accessible using keyboard:

• Undo (CTRL + Z) – Undo changes.

• Save + Next (SHIFT + ENTER) – Save changes and move to the next item in the grid.

• Save (ENTER) – Save changes in the promotion price calculation.

Export to Excel

It is possible to export items in Promotion price to Excel from the Manage item's view. Click on the Export to Excel button to export the items in the offer. "Export started" Information is displayed at the bottom of the view. You will get a notification when the export is finished.

You can open the file by clicking on the link in the notification. You can also click on the notification icon at the top of the view and click on "Download file".

Only Cost price calculation is available for mix types. See example below.

View promotion price offers

The “Promotion offers” register displays a list of offers that are part of promotions. Default columns visible in grid are promotion name, promotion status, offer code, offer name, price rule, valid from and valid to. Audit columns can also be added.

View promotions permission is required to open Promotion offers view.

By default, grid is sorted by valid from column. By clicking promotion name value, we can open promotion details.

Copy offer

In each row in “Promotion offers", in the first column, there is a 'Copy offer' function. You can use it by clicking on the (…) and then click on "Copy offer".  

Using this, we can copy an offer for another promotion. It shows dialog where the user can select target promotion from the list, or search promotion.

Offer is copied to the target promotion.
